Uh Oh

This is never a good sign for a normally active 6 year old, 4 year old and 16 month old in the early evening hour.

No, our house was not the location of a murder scene nor were any cameras filming an episode of toddler CSI.  Instead, this is a case of the Icko Sicko's.  Within an hour of this picture being taken, my two boys got sick, everywhere.

Wednesday's Child on Tuesday

One day I'll get back to the right child on the right day, but for now here's something to share about my Wednesday Child, R.   When R. is in the right mood, she loves to help.  This afternoon was one of those moments.  She helped me make dinner tonight. :)

Can you guess what we had for dinner tonight?

Meatloaf!

The finished product and a very satisfied helper.

Thank you for your help R.!

Tuesday's Child on Thursday

A. around 8 months old

Today is my 2nd dd's birthday.  Eight years ago she came into the world and has made my life so much  better for having done so.  A. is as sweet and caring as they come.  She has a big heart and is always looking for ways to help.  Unfortunately, A. is under the weather today.  Once she is feeling better we will celebrate her birthday and I'll post a current picture of her.

We love you A. and are so proud of the beautiful girl you are turning into.  God's grace shines brightly in your life.

Monday's child on Wednesday

I added a video of my oldest playing one of her piano pieces.  The piece is Toccatina by Dmitri Kabalevsky.  You can also hear my 17 month old providing the accompaniment.

She also helped me make dinner tonight.  She took care of the raw meat all by herself.  Since I'm not feeling well today, this was a huge blessing.  .  I cut the veggies and popped it in the oven, that pan is  heavy.    Next time, I'm going to have her cut the veggies as well.  I've had her try in the past, but between our extremely sharp knife and her cutting, ahem,  "skills", I've been handling that part.  But, I'm ready to pass it on to her now.

Ahhh, can you smell it?  It was delicious.  E. did a wonderful job seasoning the chicken.  Thank you for your help today my sweet pea.

Hawaiian memories

I kindof lost steam sharing about our trip to Hawaii.  We had a party here for my parents and I put together another slide show combining everyone's pictures of our time in Hawaii to thank them for our fabulous trip.  After doing another big photo video I lost all interest in making smaller ones.  So, I'll be adding that show to the side bar and deleting the other ones that are there.  It has pictures from the entire family.  I'm also putting in the slide show that I made for my parents anniversary that encompasses their entire lives.  Some people have asked about them, so here they are. :)  I will warn you though, they are on the long side.  Don't say I didn't warn you.

Just so you know, I'm the youngest in my family.

The get together for my parents anniversary celebration we had in Hawaii was really nice.  My parents were surprised.  My kids made signs and cards w/ Happy Anniversary written on them.  Then we made an invitation that we slide under their door, knocked and ran!  The invitation said to come to my sisters room number at such and such time.  We decorated her room w/ balloons, seashells and leis (sp?) and put out their presents.  I also bought out all the sparkling cider (10 bottles) the local restaurant had on their shelf and my sister brought the champagne that they had in their room because the day they arrived in Hawaii was their 19th wedding anniversary.  They hadn't opened it and brought it down to share w/ my parents.  We had a toast then everyone watched the video.  I knew it would make my mom cried but I was surprised when my dad told me it made him cry too.  I guess seeing your entire life like that all at once is kindof overwhelming.

After the show we needed to run to the restaurant where we had reservations.  We all met back in the lobby of the hotel after dinner and had last pictures taken since everyone but my immediate family were leaving the next day.

I'll post more about the other activities we did tomorrow.

Hair

Wanna see what my oldest did last week?

Before

After

She donated her hair to Locks of Love.

I haven't taken a picture of the final hair cut, it's considerably shorter than what it looks like in this picture.   It's a chin length bob and looks very cute on her.

My 3rd dd also cut her hair, but hers wasn't quite long enough to make the min. 10' requirement.  She too looks quite cute w/ her new bob.  Bad Mommy doesn't have any pictures of that hair cut yet either.

My 2nd dd who originally started growing her to donate and has enough, has decided she doesn't want to get her hair cut, just yet.  I thought once her sisters got their hair cut and she saw how much cooler it was she'd go along too.  Maybe next week.
