I added a new photo video.  The theme is Winter and is a compilation of various winter time shots I have of my clan.  These aren't all of them, just a few that are actually in digital format.  I may dig through my old prints and scan some other winter shots.  Since we don't have much of a winter here, I'm reliving the fun of snow w/o having to shovel!

Enjoy the show.

Unconscious mutterings

I saw this on another blog, http://anabundanceofblessings.blogspot.com/ , and thought it looked fun.

Growth

This is a picture of a palm tree in my parents front yard.  I took this picture today just for my entry.  My dad transplanted this tree when it was probably a year or two old to it's current location about 35 years ago.   It was maybe 3 ft tall back then.  My sisters and dad would jump over it, I was too chicken to try.  As you can see, no one is jumping over it anymore!

Transit of Mercury

This photo is taken by one of dh's partners who is an amateur astronomer.  The small (pin tip size) black spot at the middle/bottom right is Mercury.  The larger black spot on the far right is a sun spot.  There are also two smaller sun spots along the edge on the left.

Even though it's a pain, I'm going to keep this photo big for a little bit so you can actually see Mercury.  On the smaller size you couldn't really see the pin point.  I'll change it back to normal in a couple of days.

Voting

I love todays verse:

I urge, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

1 Timothy 2:1-2/

Remember to go and vote.  It is so important to be heard!

Giving Thanks

Kari, at Healed Waters started this.  Check out her blog and her Giving Thanks idea:

I just found this tonight, so I'm a bit late.  Even though I'm late, I'm not going to let it deter me from letting at least 18 people know how thankful I am for them.

Photo hunt

My friend Jen, http://web.mac.com/bunsell/iWeb/Unsell%20Family/Blog/Blog.html , posted this on her blog and I thought how fun!  The only problem is, I can't figure out how to link to the blog who is running this and get her neato button on my blog.

So until I get further instructions, I'll be incognito.  <====  That's me being incognito.

Anyway, the photo hunt thing is really cool.  Every Saturday a new photo theme is posted.  You can use new or old photos, the only stipulation is they are actual photos you've taken, not something you've found on the web or clipart.  This weeks theme is "Windows".

So, without further ado, here is my "Window" entry.

This is a photo taken in some builiding (don't remember what the name is) in downtown Seattle. We're standing under a skylight  and shot directly up through the skylight.  I've always thought it was a pretty cool looking picture.

Look for the link and cute button to the photo hunt  (hopefully) soon!
