Holiday Traditions - Cookies!

We don't always make Christmas cookies but this year, my girls really, really wanted to and they are big enough to do a lot of the work so... :) Cookies were made. Yum!

Again, I didn't take pictures of all the cookies but I did take some of our first batch, Peanut Butter Kisses. yum, they were so yummy.

See that jar of Jif sitting there? It was bought just for the purpose of baking these cookies.  We don't eat Jif, or any other brand like Jif. We've been eating the all natural, organic, put in the fridge kind for so long that when I tasted some Jif on a spoon I was expecting to be transported back to childhood giddiness. Know what I got instead? Nothin'.  The taste was so bland and plasticy, blah! I'll take the, build up your biceps from stirring kind of peanut butter anyday. :)  However, I was told to make great peanut butter cookies one must use the processed, hydrogenated fat PB or else the cookies won't turn out right. So, that's what I did. The cookies were yummy, despite how bland the peanut butter tastes on a spoon. :)

The other cookies we baked were Lemon Lime Crinkles and Salty Caramel Crinkles. We still have some goodies I bought to make other types of cookies. Sounds like a good project for January, or maybe Valentines Day. ;)

Hi Linda, do you have a recipe for the Salty Caramel Crinkles you could post here? Much thanks!
