As part of the TOS crew we received a deck of Pyramath cards from I See Cards. Pyramath is a fun way to review and reinforce math concepts. You can play the game either as Solitaire or against an opponent. For my large family, we've even teamed up and played with four players, two players per team. Pyramath is flexible enough to use with children just learning their basic math facts to those who are proficient in multiplication and division, which makes it a great family game.
A Pyramath deck includes 54 brightly colored, easy to read cards that sell for $6.95/deck. The cards are interestingly labeled with numbers, math symbols as well as the number name written out in English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Roman and Arabic. You can learn a bit of a foreign language while you practice your math facts all in one fun game! :)
The object of Pyramath is to be the first one to complete your pyramid. You can play in either a 5 card or 7 card lay out. Both players use the initial lay-out and build their own pyramids off of cards drawn from the pile. A completed pyramid would look like the example in the picture above. There are a few variations to the basic game, such as war and speed, that keep the game diverse and exciting.
You can watch a video from the creator of Pyramath demonstrating how to play Pyramath here.
Victory!
Pyramath is a fun, addictive game that everyone in our family enjoys playing. :)
I See Cards sells other card math decks such as, Fractazmic and Primebomb as well as their I See Cards deck.
Make sure to check out their website for their on-line version of Pyramath. I will warn you though, it is addictive!
